Newton LDP is celebrating success as one of its major projects takes home top prize for Property Deal of the Year at this year’s Insider West Midlands Property Awards.
The award-winning entry referenced the sale of three parcels of land at Pickford Gate, Coventry.
Forming part of the wider scheme, the three land sales led by Newton LDP, totalled circa 185-acres and will deliver over 1,100 homes, along with circa 645,000 sq ft of employment space, comprising industrial and logistics as well as research and development facilities.
These sales have made a significant contribution to the ongoing delivery of the Pickford Gate scheme, which comprises a placemaking community of 2,400 new homes – at least 25 per cent of which will be affordable homes - employment land, a new primary school, district and local community centres, a transport hub, and extensive open spaces and play facilities, as well as significant highway improvements to the A45.
The land sales are not only a significant step towards bringing forward thousands of homes and supporting infrastructure but they also bring economic growth through the delivery of 15 hectares of employment space.
Richard Foxon, managing director at Newton LDP, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our success at this year’s West Midlands Property Awards. Winning Property Deal of the Year is testament to the hard work of the project team, our associates and key stakeholders.
“Working collectively with Hallam Land and the landowners for more than a decade, we’ve seen the scheme from inception through to sale and now delivery on site, facilitating the development of much needed new homes, employment space and infrastructure in a landscape led environment.
“We are working on many similar schemes of regional or national significance, they all take an incredible amount of hard work over a prolonged period, so it is great to get the reward and recognition when they finally come to fruition.
“We would like to offer our thanks to all those involved with the three sales at Pickford Gate.”
